Cooperation between Bangladesh and Tripoli , and the ambassador Tanveer Khan in the Elite Center for Culture and Education

The Elite Center for Culture and Education in Tripoli witnessed an important event on Saturday, May 11, 2024, represented by the visit of H.E. Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanveer Khan Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to Lebanon, to the center.

His Excellency was received by the head of the center, Dr. Iman Dernaika Al-Kamali, along with the management staff and a number of friends of the center.

The visit included a fruitful discussion on many topics of common interest, including strengthening relations at various levels, opening new horizons for cooperation in the fields of culture, education, trade, economy and development, in addition to exploring promising investment opportunities in Bangladesh.

Speaking during the visit, the Ambassador highlighted the significant progress Bangladesh has achieved in recent years under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He emphasized the strength of the Bangladeshi economy, noting that Bangladesh has recorded a rise in GDP growth over the past ten years, despite the downward trend of the global economy. The Ambassador also highlighted Bangladesh’s distinguished position as a global center for garment manufacturing, in addition to its remarkable progress in other sectors such as medicines, leather, ceramics, household appliances, electronics, and shipbuilding.

The Ambassador expressed his great appreciation for the efforts of the Elite Center in promoting cultural dialogue between Lebanon and Bangladesh, stressing the necessity of launching a group of joint activities and projects between the Center and the Embassy at all levels.

The Ambassador presented a symbolic gift to the center, and also promised to send a collection of valuable books about Bangladesh to the center’s library.

For her part, Dr. Iman Dernaika, President of the Elite Center, expressed her deep thanks to the Bangladeshi Ambassador for his visit, stressing the Center’s commitment to strengthening relations at all levels, especially cultural and commercial.

In conclusion, the visit of the Bangladeshi Ambassador to the Elite Center represented an important step towards strengthening cooperation and opened new horizons for developing relations between the two countries.
